Posted: Updated:
DENTON COUNTY, Texas -

There were two major accidents Thursday morning involving pedestrians on North Texas highways.

In Fort Worth a woman was hit and killed as she tried to cross northbound Interstate 35W near Seminary Drive.

A white car swerved to avoid hitting her and ending up spinning out. Then an 18-wheeler rolled over the car.

Both drivers survived without any serious injuries.

The second accident happened on Highway 114 at John Day Road in Denton County.

A man was hit by an 18-wheeler and seriously hurt. He had to be rushed to the hospital by helicopter.

It is not yet clear why the two victims were walking on or crossing the highways.

Both accidents caused significant traffic delays during the morning rush hour.
