Neiman Marcus apologizes following security breach

Posted: Updated:

Neiman Marcus is apologizing to its customers affected by a security breach, and the high-end retailer is offering free credit monitoring.

Hackers gained access to the Dallas-based company's customer database, stole everything from credit card information to addresses and phone numbers and then used the information to go shopping.

It happened in mid-December, but the breach wasn't detected until the first of January.

Neiman's did not say how many people may have been affected or what information was lost.
