Gwinnett Co. arrest suspect after SWAT standoff

LOGANVILLE, Ga. -

Authorities spent more than an hour in standoff Wednesday morning with a Loganville man.

According to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department, around 10 a.m., while deputies were serving an eviction notice, a man inside a home on the 1800 block of Mountain Park Run exchanged gunfire with deputies. 

Deputies were not injured by the gunfire and the suspect surrendered to authorities shortly before noon. At least eight homes in the neighborhood were evacuated.

No injuries were reported.

Authorities identified the suspect as 54-year-old Kelvin Gourick. He is being held without bond on charges of aggravated assault and terroristic threats and acts.
