United Airlines to offer former flight attendants jobs at Continental

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

United Airlines said it won't have to lay off almost 700 flight attendants after all, it will offer them jobs at Continental.

United Airlines and Continental merged in 2010.

Company officials said they've had too many flight attendants on the United side and not enough on Continental.

The flight attendants union rejected an earlier plan to move employees between the airlines, but this time United said it will make the offer the same day the flight attendants are laid off so they won't technically be United employees at the time.
