Former porn star Robin Byrd on life after adult films

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - TV host Robin Byrd is still at it. The former adult film actress can be seen on cable in New York City.

The Robin Byrd Show first debuted in the late 1970s.

"I have over 2,000, 1-hour Robin Byrd shows," said the producer, director, booker and editor.

Byrd came to be known for her interviews of adult film stars while wearing a crochet bikini.

"I got bored with what was on late night television. I was doing adult films. I was in the original Debbie Does Dallas," said Byrd about how she got her start on TV.

Before the show, she says she was making money doing what she "loved."

"I was the orgy queen. Friends of mine said if you’re giving it away for free you might as well get paid for it," said Byrd.

The New York City native continues to call the big Apple home.

"I’m not making money I’m surviving. Everybody is on the Internet. I’m happy. Money isn’t everything but it does pay the bills," said Byrd.

You can watch Byrd on Time Warner Cable NYC at 10 p.m. and again at 5 a.m.
