Suspect arrested in connection to 2009 Waxahachie murder, robbery

Posted: Updated:

Waxahachie Police said Friday they've arrested a suspect in connection to a 2009 murder and robbery at a pawn shop.

Police say Kajlon Jamaal Carroll, 22, is being held on a charge of capital murder by terror threat in the death of Phillip Tucker.

Tucker was killed inside his pawn shop, Dallas Pawn & Jewelry in August 2009.

In late 2013, police were tipped off by an acquaintance of Carroll's, who said that Carroll had talked about the crime.

Police interviewed Carroll in Dec. 2013 and took a DNA sample. That sample matched blood at the scene of the crime.

Carroll remains in the Ellis County Jail under a $350,000 bond.
