21-Year-Old Crowned Toughest Guy In the World

PERTON, UK -

A 21-year-old German man has been officially crowned the Toughest Guy in the World.

Grueling obstacle course races like the Tough Mudder and the Spartan Race are all the fitness rage, but organizers of Great Britain's Tough Guy Race claim theirs is the toughest, with 13 kilometers (~eight miles) of freezing water, fire, mud, and barbed wire through the English midlands in January.

This year's champ, Charles Franzke of Saalfeld, Germany, finished the grueling course in one hour, 29 minutes and 21 seconds.

He beat out 4500 other competitors for the toughest guy crown.

"I'm so happy, but very cold, but the track was very hard, unbelievable, so just a nice day," Frankie said.

Franzke's win solidifies Germany's domination of the British Race. German Champ Knut Hoehler won the Tough Guy Race the previous three years.
