Interracial family to reprise roles in Cheerios Super Bowl ad

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Cheerios' 2013 Super Bowl ad featuring an interracial family, got a lot of attention - some negative and some positive. General Mills is bringing that family back in a new spot set to air during Super Bowl XLVIII.

This time around, "Gracie's" dad is using Cheerios to help her understand she's going to be a big sister. Pretty cute stuff!

So if the 2013 commercial caused so many problems, why is General Mills "going there" again? The company says times have changed, and they cast actors to reflect the changing US population.

This 30 second Super Bowl spot cost General Mill about $4 million.
