Times Square just got a whole lot busier. After days of setting up a stage, lights, a toboggan run and lots of other activities, Super Bowl Boulevard has come to life.  It opened on Wednesday at Noon and it's on Broadway and stretches from 34th Street up to 47th Street. One and a half million people are expected to walk through the event which runs through Saturday.

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - The buildup to Super Bowl 48 hits a high note on Saturday when legendary band Blondie takes the stage on Super Bowl Boulevard.

Singer Debbie Harry says she is excited about the big game.

"I don’t know that I am a football fan, but I love half time. I love Bruno Mars, he's adorable," said Harry.

Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be performing on Sunday.

But first, Blondie, who celebrate their 40th anniversary this year, will be rocking out to their hits like 'Call Me' at 8:30 p.m. on 40th St. and Broadway.

“The songs still hold up today. I’m very proud of that. We took some chances back then. We were risky and it worked out in our favor,” said Harry.

Blondie is gearing up for the release of a new CD and a new tour.

"We travel and we tour somewhere between three and five months a year. We travel all over the world," said Harry who grew up in New Jersey.
