Wrong-way driver hits I-30 HOV wall

Posted: Updated:

A man driving the wrong way on Interstate 30 in east Dallas ran into the HOV wall Tuesday morning.

Other drivers called 911 around 12:30 a.m. after spotting the truck going in the wrong direction near Dolphin Road.

A witness described what he saw.

"A lot of close calls and 18 wheelers dodging him and stuff like that. He wasn't dodging anyone. They were all dodging him," said Adrian Galoardo.

The truck crashed into the HOV zipper wall at Carroll Avenue, which is about two miles down the road. The driver was not hurt.

He told police he'd had two beers and officers said they found marijuana in the truck. The driver also claimed his steering wheel locked.

Police are still investigating the possibility that he was impaired.
