Globe Life Park in Arlington new name for Rangers' stadium

Posted: Updated:

Globe Life Park in Arlington is the new name for the home of the Texas Rangers.

The Rangers made the naming rights deal official at an 11 a.m. press conference. The deal lasts ten years and goes into effect immediately.

Globe Life And Accident Insurance Company is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and is a provider of life and health insurance coverage throughout the United States.

There were no immediate details on how much the naming rights deal is worth.

It's the second time the stadium has had a corporate sponsor's name. The Rangers agreed to a deal with now-defunct mortgage company Ameriquest in May 2004, a few months into the 2004 season.

The ballpark was known as Ameriquest Field in Arlington for just three seasons, though. Ahead of the 2007 season, the Rangers ended their 30-year deal with Ameriquest and renamed the park Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The stadium was known for its first ten years, 1994-2004, as The Ballpark in Arlington.
