Clooney, dad share big screen in The Monuments Men

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

George Clooney regularly shares the big screen with equally talented Hollywood actors, but in his latest role Clooney stars alongside an amateur and he couldn't be happier with the outcome.

The newbie even needed some talking into before he agreed to appear in The Monuments Men.

"Well, who looks like me as an old man? Well, my old man does! It seemed like a fun thing to do," said Clooney about his father, Nick.

The elder Clooney makes a cameo in the World War II movie about art historians, museum directors and curators rescuing art stolen by the Nazis.

He might have needed some prodding, but Nick Clooney couldn't be more proud of his son's work.

George Clooney directed, co-wrote and stars in the film.

“He does it because he now has been given this gift not only of talent but the gift of power, the power to do something about things that he sees as wrongs in the word, everyone of them….and he’ll tackle all of them," said Nick Clooney.

The Clooneys join Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett and John Goodman in the movie based on a true story opening in theaters on Feb. 7, 2014.
