PHOENIX (AP) -- A Tempe man charged in the 2010 shooting death of his ex-girlfriend has been found guilty.
Wade Bradford's trial began in mid-January. Jurors deliberated for less than a full day Wednesday before finding Bradford guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
Authorities say Bradford fatally shot his ex-girlfriend when she came to his home with her new boyfriend to collect her belongings.
Bradford says the shooting was self-defense after the man charged at him, causing the gun to accidentally go off, striking the woman.
Separately, Bradford also is charged in the 2006 death of a previous girlfriend whose body was found in 2011. He has denied involvement in her death. A trial date in that case has not yet been set.
