Disney On Ice

Posted: Updated:
Trenton, New Jersey (My9NJ) - Hold on to your ice skates New Jersey, Disney on Ice is sliding into the Garden State. The Sun National Bank Center in Trenton is hosting the ice show featuring Disney characters.

The audience will be taken on a journey through eight different stories featuring Mickey Mouse, Princess Belle, and even more recent favorites like Woody and Nemo.

Two of the show's skaters came to Chasing New Jersey.

“We play out the stories with different characters and props and we play out the roles and bring the audience to that moment in time,” said Shannon Brake.

When asked about the elaborate wardrobes within the performance, performer Kristie Nelson had this to say.

“We have a wardrobe department, so if there any alterations that need to be made for different people and sizes; they will fit them to our bodies. Some of them are more comfortable than others, some of them have really big skirts for example, or of them have masks you have to wear so it’s definitely a big adjustment.”

Preparation for the big show is taken very seriously amongst the Disney crew. Two weeks of rehearsal in Rockford, Ill., along with rehearsal every week during the shows run gives the performers an chance to create what they hope is the perfect show for diehard Disney fans.

The show will be around for one week before it moves on to its next city.
