Officer delivers baby in Dallas

Posted: Updated:

Two Dallas police officers made a special delivery.

The officers were in their squad car at Parkland Hospital over the weekend when they heard calls for help. They found a woman in labor in the parking lot.

One officer went to grab a doctor and the other stayed to help.

"The lady couldn't wait so she had her baby and I took my jacket off because it was freezing. So I took my jacket off and wrapped the baby in there and waited for him to come back," said Officer Ariana Hernandez.

Officer Hernandez has been nominated by the Southeast Patrol Division for officer of the month.
