SMU basketball No. 23 in AP Top 25; first ranking since 1984-85

SMU is ranked in the AP Top 25 men's basketball poll for the first time in nearly three decades.

The Mustangs are No. 23 in the poll, which was released on Monday morning, just two days after SMU thrashed then No. 7 Cincinnati, 76-55.

SMU (19-5, 8-3) has defeated three Top 25 teams this season - Connecticut, Memphis and Cincinnati.

SMU is undefeated at home this season, 13-0, and 7-0 at the newly renovated Moody Coliseum.

SMU has sold out four games at home this year and has already sold out a fifth, a March 5 match up against defending national champion Louisville.

SMU students stormed the court on Saturday after its upset of Cincinnati and basketball mania is at fever pitch on the Hilltop. Student lined up beginning late Sunday for Monday morning's student basketball ticket distribution.

Head coach Larry Brown stopped by on Monday morning to hand out donuts to the students in line, who braved near-freezing temperatures while camped out overnight.
