International passengers arriving at DFW Airport should have shorter wait times thanks to a new automated passport system.
Kiosks placed in customs now allow passengers to register their return to the United States electronically.
Passengers can use one of the 30 touch-screens to enter their own passport information.
More than 320,000 passengers have used the system since it started operating in a test mode last October, but Monday was the automated system's official debut.
The system also allows US Customs and Border Protection to reallocate more resources to handle foreign passport holders, which helps keep those lines short.
