More than 100 local high school students made a pledge for prom to not drink or do drugs and they have a good reason to follow through: They get free prom dresses and tuxedos for the night.
More than 150 students took the pledge, with the free tuxedos and dresses sponsored by the Council on Alcohol and Drugs and other partners for the 13th year in a row.
"I believe that I will be strong," says high school Senior Keshayla Thomas. "I know I will because I made a pledge to my parents, to this organization and to myself that I won't do that."
The students also attended workshops on Saturday with subjects like self-esteem and making healthy choices.
