"Back to the Future II" was full of tech we drooled over. While the Hoverboard, flying cars and instant Pizza Hut are some way off, Marty McFly’s Nike trainers with power laces are to become a reality.

When Marty and Doc set a course for 2015 (this was the actual year they went to in the movie, feel old?) to blend in they needed to dress like futurites. Marty slipped on a self-adjusting jacket and put on a pair of awesome runners that automatically laced themselves up. Before our very eyes they fastened to his feet. “Power laces!” Marty cried.

Now you could be doing the same next year after Nike designer Tinker Hatfield confirmed at an event in New Orleans that power laces were coming for 2015.

“Are we gonna see power laces in 2015? To that, I say YES!” Hatfield said.

Further information such as what models will get the special lacing system was not disclosed.

Nike actually released the Nike Air Mag replicas of Marty’s kicks back in 2011, but were only a limited run of 1,500 and didn’t feature power laces.

We cannot wait for the power lacing futureness to arrive at our feet and they’re something we’d take a face full of manure to own.

HAVANA (AP) -- Cuban authorities say they have eliminated more than 100,000 jobs in health care, considered one of the pillars of the 1959 revolution. The weekly labor newspaper Trabajadores said Monday that 109,000 health care positions have been cut. Two years ago, Cuba said more than 50,000 jobs in that sector had been slashed.
