A person is dead after being pushed or jumping out of a vehicle near Coit and LBJ Freeway on Tuesday. Dallas police are calling the case and active murder investigation.
Dallas police believe two people were inside an SUV traveling on the service road of 635 near Coit Road about 7:20 a.m. when the passenger in the car was either pushed or jumped out of the vehicle.
Police said the person was taken to Medical City from the scene and later pronounced dead.
The driver continued traveling southbound on Coit Road and got into a wreck on with another car and crashed into a school sign. The driver then bailed out of his SUV behind the Yavneh Academy.
Blood was visible on the doors of the SUV that was abandoned by the driver. Dallas PD could be seen collecting evidence from the vehicle. It's not known if the driver and passenger knew each other and the victim has not been publicly identified.
Police said the driver fled the scene on foot headed northbound on Coit Road and a search continues to find him. The driver is described as a Latin male who is wearing a bandana and dark colored clothing. Police could be seen searching a nearby wooded area from Sky4.
