NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

State police say a 21-year-old Yonkers man faces multiple charges after driving his Acura Integra 144 mph along the state Thruway and refusing to stop for police.

Police say Pedro Ramirez-Cuebas III was speeding on I-87 at 9:43 p.m. Friday in the town of Coeymans, about 10 miles south of Albany. The speed limit is 65 mph in that area.

When troopers tried to top him, police say he sped north, weaving in and out of traffic and turning his headlights on and off.

Police were able to catch him when he was forced to stop at the Exit 24 toll plaza in Albany.

He was quickly taken into custody without further incident.

He was transported to a police station and charged with the following:

•Reckless Endangerment 1st; Class D Felony

•Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd; Class A Misdemeanor

•Unlawful Possession of Marihuana

Ramirez-Cuebas was arraigned and sent to the Albany County jail to await another hearing in the Coeymans Town Court later this month.
