LIVONIA, Mich. (WJBK) -

A pothole in the westbound lanes of I-96 before Merriman Road has popped nearly 20 tires just in the evening hours of Friday night.

A FOX 2 crew was on the scene and saw a steady stream of cars pulling into a nearby gas station to address the damage.

A Redford resident, Jacob Foster, was at the gas station and lended out his help changing tires free of service.

"There was 13 people in the parking lot so I'm just going around asking people if they need a change," he tells FOX 2.

During Ron Savage's live report four tire-change operations were happening.
