Apple users asked to download patch to fix flaw - Dallas News |

Security flaw could allow hackers to intercept communications on Apple devices

Posted: Updated:

Apple users are being encouraged to download software patches to fix a big security flaw.

The patch is for mobile users. An Apple spokesman said a major flaw in the software could allow hackers to intercept e-mail and other communications that are meant to be encrypted.

A statement on Apple's website said the software failed to validate the authenticity of the connection.

There is no word on how Apple learned about the flaw. They are still working on a patch for Macintosh operating systems.
