Electricity cut to apartments after fire

Posted: Updated:

Electricity had to be cut off to all 16 units of the Preston Valley Apartments in North Dallas after a fire.

The fire started just after 7 PM Sunday.

Initially, firefighters could only see smoke coming from a 2-story apartment building; but shortly after they reported seeing fire coming through the roof.

It took just over an hour to extinguish the flames.

It's not clear how many apartment units were affected by the fire.  But the American Red Cross was called in to assist about 40 residents displaced because of the electricity outage.
