Fire breaks out in firehouse

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - Firefighters battled a flames inside their own Westchester County firehouse on Monday.

A fire broke out at the Golden's Bridge Fire Department building at about 9:40 a.m. It is not clear if any firefighters were inside the two-story building at 254 Waccabuc Road in Lewisboro.

A portion of the roof collapsed in the fire and the damage is being called significant.

One firefighter who responded to the scene suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Firefighters from various local towns fought the flames and Route 138 was shot down.

The fire was put out within an hour.

The fire was determined to be accidental in nature.  The fire is believed to have started becasue of a faulty electrical connection to a fire truck while parked inside of the firehouse.

Golden's Bridge is a hamlet in northern Westchester County, about 50 miles from Manhattan.

    A brazen robbery at one of the tri-state area's ritziest malls took place in front of dozens of shocked shoppers on Sunday. It all happened at The Westchester in White Plains.
