Abbott reports $30M, Davis $11M in gov's race

Posted: Updated:

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Democratic candidate for governor Wendy Davis outraised her opponent in the last 30 days, Republican Attorney General Greg Abbott has $30 million socked away, almost three times as much as Davis.

The campaigns on Monday said that Davis raised $2.85 million to Abbott's $2.5 million in the last month. But with only $11 million cash-on-hand, Davis remains at a disadvantage

Attacks between Abbott and Democrat Wendy Davis have sharpened since late January over border security and Abbott's decision to campaign with outspoken rocker Ted Nugent.

Monday was another campaign finance reporting deadline ahead of the March 4 primary.

Perry raised $39 million during his last re-election campaign in 2010. Abbott and Davis could set records for individual contributions and donors.

Davis says she's had 91,000 individual contributors.
