Police: Man Exposed Himself To Several Girls In MontCo

Posted: Updated:
Norristown, PA -

Police say a man is on the loose in Montgomery County. They say he exposed himself to several girls walking to school this week.

At this time police have a very limited description of the suspect. He's being described as an older man who was dressed in all black at the time. The Norristown School District has told FOX 29 that they have coordinated with the police to assign clear police presence around the school.

While he's still out there, parents said they're being extra cautious with their children.

"It's gross. I don't want to see that," parent Nancy Alvaro said.

"That's nasty, that's immature," parent Vincent Whipple said.

Around 8 a.m. Tuesday, police said a man exposed himself to several girls walking to school on the 1500 block of Markley Street.

"I'm really surprised, really brazen," Alvaro said.

Alvaro is very concerned for the 100 children who walk that route to school daily.

"I actually thought about getting mace and giving it to my kids because it's ridiculous. The kids can't walk anywhere in peace anymore," she said.

Alvaro said the students were walking to Eisenhower Middle School, just a couple blocks from where the incident happened.

Police passed out flyers to those living in the area, asking them to keep an eye out for the suspect.

"They need to be locked up. Seriously, they need to be found and prosecuted ASAP," Whipple said.

While no luring attempt was made in this case, Anessa Harris worried this person could be capable of something more sinister.

"It pretty frightening because these are young girls and he might eventually get scared and try to take them for other reasons and that's pretty scary," Harris said.

For that very reason, Alvaro said her three kids won't be playing outside.

"Until this guy is captured, then I'll let the kids out, but until then they stay inside," she said.

Other parents said they're watching their kids more closely.

"There is nothing I really can do but to make sure I'm by his side every time he walks outside," Harris said.

"The safety of students is the number 1 priority of the Norristown Area School District. We ask our parents and children to be very vigilant," The Norristown School District tells FOX 29.

Officers have been passing out posters and flyers to people in the area urging people to take extra caution. If you have any information about the case, you're asked to call the Norristown Police Department at 610-270-0977.
