The Dallas police officer wounded during a shootout two weeks ago was released from the hospital on Friday.
Officer Joshua Burns, 30, was hit in the shoulder, chest and leg while answering a domestic disturbance call at a northeast Dallas apartment complex on Feb. 15.
Burns' family asked for privacy during his release from Baylor Medical Center, so the media was not invited. Burns is a 7-year veteran of the Dallas police force.
Rakeem Perkins, 20, was arrested and has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault of a public servant for shooting Burns. He remains jailed on a $2 million bond.
