Mother of A Boy With Cancer Seeks Cards From Heroes

Posted: Updated:

A Rhode Island boy's battle with cancer is stealing the hearts of good samaritans across the country and overseas.

Six year old Tyler Seddon has been undergoing chemotherapy for leukemia while doctors search for a bone marrow donor.

In the meantime, his mother has started a Facebook campaign to collect cards from firefighters and police officers for Tyler's seventh birthday next week.

And it's gone viral!

The Facebook page has more than 17,000 members!

Tyler has also been getting showered for weeks with hundreds of items including cards, an army uniform, and mail all the way from the UK!

"We filled up this room and another room completely almost of packages," says Tyler's aunt, Brianna Roy.

His mother is stunned by all of the donations.

"People have sent badges from like Vietnam. Like some of their personal belongings that are probably not only of sentimental value, but they probably have great value to them," says Tyler's mother, Rachael Seddon

Burrillville police will pick Tyler up at his home on his birthday, March 6th, and bring him to the station for a roll call.

He will be sworn in as colonel for the day.
