Two cars destroyed in Mount Prospect fire

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A fire Friday afternoon in northwest suburban Mount Prospect destroyed two vehicles, causing more than $35,000 in damage.

Firefighters were called to the 1600 block of Oneida Court at 2:22 p.m. and found two vehicles on fire with flames extending toward a house, according to a release from the Mount Prospect Fire Department.

Crews quickly put out the flames, but both vehicles were destroyed and the house sustained some damage, the release said.

No one was hurt, the release said. The blaze was deemed an accident and caused roughly $35,000 in damage.
