EARLVILLE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two people are dead following a residential fire early Sunday in rural Earlville in DeKalb County, approximately 80 miles from Chicago.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and five fire agencies responded to the blaze about 4 a.m. Sunday. The home, located in the 400 block of Hyde Road, was fully engulfed upon arrival, according to police.

Matthew W. Jones, 53, who lived in the home, and 49-year-old Dawn Williams of Ripon, Wis. died in the fire, according to a joint release from the DeKalb County Sheriff's office and the DeKalb County Coroner's office.

Williams' brother, a 48-year-old man from Lone Rock, Wis., was also in the home but managed to escape with minor burns. He was the first person to call 911 after he woke up to the fire, officials said.

The DeKalb County Sheriff's office is investigating, though no foul play is suspected.
