DETROIT (WJBK) -

A 60-year-old man has been charged with possession of a dangerous weapon in a federal facility.

A criminal complaint says Timothy Daniels entered the Theodore Levin United States Courthouse on March 3 with two knives in his pockets, intending to kill two people. The two targets were his probation officer and a federal judge.

Each knife had a serrated blade approximately four inches long, according to the complaint.

He made it to his probation officer's office with the weapons still on his person but then decided to not kill her, telling authorities "she did not deserve to be killed." Daniels then asked a security officer where the marshal's office was, went there and confessed.

The complaint states Daniels told authorities he was released from the Michigan Department of Corrections on Feb. 11 and was living at a halfway house. He says he spent the majority of the last 40 years in prison and wanted to go back because "it was not going well," and knew that he would go to prison for the rest of his life if he killed these two people.

In the past, Daniels was convicted of assault with intent to rob while armed, credit card fraud, armed robbery and felony firearm.
