DEARBORN, Mich. (WJBK) -

A cat care facility in Dearborn is hoping to give a cat a chance to walk.

The cat, named Star, was injured when she was younger. Her previous owners did not take her to a veterinarian so now she is permanently disabled. Neither of her back legs work, so Star gets around by pulling herself by her front two legs.

The cat was rescued by The Country Cat & City Kitty when the cat was turned in to be euthanized.

Shera Dickie, a veterinarian at St. Julian's Cat Care, says the cat's best option for a normal life is to be fitted with a cart, which costs about $5,000. She says the cat is "very sweet" and just had a rough start in life.

If you would like to donate towards the cost of Star's medical care you can do so by sending your contribution to St. Julian's Cat Care.
