Dallas City Council approves resolution supporting LGBT employees

Posted: Updated:

The Dallas City Council approved a resolution supporting the city's LGBT employees.

Mayor Mike Rawlings signed the resolution after Wednesday's 13-to-2 vote.

It will allow city manager A.C. Ggonzalez to adapt pension and health care plans for LGBT employees.

The only votes against the resolution came from councilmembers Sheffie Kadane and Vonciel Jones Hill.

Kadane said the resolution was discriminatory, because it only applies to inequalities for those in the LGBT community.
