ASH TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department says a 17-year-old female died in a car crash in Ash Township Wednesday afternoon. The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle is in critical condition.

The two girls were driving in a Jeep along Telegraph Road and collided with a Volvo semi-tractor/trailer at the intersection of Sigler Road.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

Police say neither speed nor alcohol was a factor in the crash and everyone was wearing seatbelts.

The crash is still under investigation.
