Rape victim sues her alleged attacker

Posted: Updated:

The SMU student who reported she was raped on campus in 2012 is suing the university and her alleged attacker.

Donald Cuba was acquitted last May.  Then, he filed a defamation lawsuit against his accuser and her parents.

The Dallas Morning News reports that in her lawsuit, the female student argues that Cuba's lawsuit is retaliation against her for reporting the rape.  Her lawsuit also claims the school didn't do enough to protect her.

The woman is suing for more than a million dollars in damages.
