North Richland Hills man told to take down military flag

Posted: Updated:

A man is furious after being told you cannot display the U.S. Navy flag on his apartment.

The apartment management in North Richland Hills told Cory Collier to take down the flag. He put up to honor family members.

It was up for six months, and then Collier was told the display violated city code.

"It's not right. I just want to show my support for our men and women serving in uniform," he said. "Compared to what they're doing for us… My brother's been in 11 years. We go back five generations in the service. It's my way of saying thank you."

Management at the complex is sending out a notice to all tenants clarifying that the city does not allow attaching things to the outside of buildings.
