2-year-old saves mom using FaceTime on phone

TUCSON, Ariz. -

A little boy in Tucson is being called a hero after using social media to save his mom.

Laura Toone needed help when a foster dog she was caring for attacked one of her own dogs.

She tried to break up the fight, but one of the dogs nearly bit her finger off.

Then, she told her 4-year-old daughters to call for help.

"I begged my daughters to call 911, but they're four and they were quite afraid to touch my phone because it was covered with my own blood," said Toone.

That's when 2-year-old Bently ran in to help.

"Here comes my son from the kitchen bringing me our dishtowel and he came over and wiped off the blood himself and proceeded to call my friend on FaceTime," said Toone.

Toone says Bently loves using the phone to video message her friends, and since he does it so much, a lot of her friends just ignore the call.

Luckily this time someone answered.

"Something inside told me I needed to answer this FaceTime. All I saw was his little forehead then it was quiet for a second, then I hear Laura screaming," said Connie Guerrero, Toone's friend.

She quickly called 911 and help arrived for Toone.

Bently proved to be a hero again when he unlocked the door so firefighters could get inside and help his mom.

Toone says she has since taught all three of her kids about dialing 911 and to call in any dangerous circumstance.
