Some happy campers hit the street in Fort Worth on Tuesday as part of a traveling campaign to spread cheer and get folks to smile.
Peppy participants with the Happiness Sprinkling Project brought smiles and signs with messages to town, reading things like "You are enough," "Be you" and "It's going to be OK."
"Just to spread some joy in the world," said happy ambassador Ann Godby. "You hear negative things all the time and it's time we had some more positive things going on in the world!"
The whole thing started when a clever Facebook posting took on a life of its own. The signs travel from city to city, and the people who wave them are hometown happy volunteers.
"There's no agenda," said happiness ambassador Nikia Lawson. "Everyone needs to feel like they're loved and they're special and beautiful. That's what we're doing -- just sprinkling happy!"
And when the barrage of happiness seems to catch some off guard, it's still welcome.
"I think it's lovely to spread joy," said Linda Rogers, who saw the project on Tuesday. "Who doesn't enjoy and need more happiness?"
