Metro Detroit 3 inches away from snowiest winter ever

According to the National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office, the Detroit area has received 90.6" of snow this winter. This is ranked the second-most snowiest winter ever, and at least three more inches of snow is needed to break the record.

The snowiest winter ever on record was the winter of 1880-1881 with 93.6" of snow.

The NSW says the season normal for the Detroit area is 42.5" of snow.
