Teens questioned about Dallas arson fires

Posted: Updated:

Arson investigators questioned three juveniles about a series of fires that were set overnight in northwest Dallas.

The fires in the Web Chapel Extension area began around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Dallas Fire-Rescue said crews responded to four dumpster fires. Soon after they got calls about fires in an apartment laundry room and mail room.

According to a police report, witnesses told investigators about a group of 13 or 14-year-old boys who had been playing with a lighter in the laundry room.

Officers questioned the suspects about their involvement. They were issued curfew violation citations and released to their parents.

It is not yet clear if they will be charged with arson.

There were no reports of injuries.
