PENNSAUKEN, N.J. -

"I can't move my leg. When I move I see something cracked."

Ronale Thomas talked with FOX29's Dave Kinchen on the phone from his cooper university hospital bed.

He was hit by a car that kept on going on the Admiral Wilson Blvd near Rosemont Ave in Pennsauken early Sunday morning.

Pennsauken Police say Thomas was driving this white van that hit and killed 31-year-old Victor Gutierrez of Texas.

Thomas got out to help and then became a victim himself.

"I don't know where the guy came from, he hit me.  There were a lot of people there," recalls Thomas.

Investigators say the suspect left behind this passenger side mirror from either a Ford Taurus or mercury Sable dated between 1996 and 2006.

Sgt. Chris Sulzbach advised the suspect turn themselves in "tell us your side of the story and we'll take it from there."
