Organizers of Vape Blast 2014 say the weekend expo in Lewisville featuring vapor cigarettes was a huge success.
The festival was the first of its kind in our area festival and organizers say vaping is about lifestyle change.
More than 2,500 people made their way through the Medical Center of Lewisville Grand Theater this weekend.
Many people say they went to the festival seeking alternatives to tobacco products. Others were there to promote the device because they say it helped them stop smoking.
"Smoking kills you. You don't have to read a study or do research to find that out. How many people are dying a year these days because of smoking? With vaping, there are no carcinogens, no toxic chemicals, no nothing," said Callie Saunders who attended the event.
An e-cigarette device can cost around $60 to $150. Some people attended the festival looking for good deals.
The event was so successful organizers say they are planning a bigger expo next year.
