Shoe that guides you to your destination

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Some would argue sneakers have become like art, sponsored by big time athletes like LeBron James who have legions of fans following his every move. But now a company called Lechal is bringing back the sweet science of sneakers.

Anirudh Sharma, the co-founder of Lechal, says that as you're walking it will give you a vibration, like a poke in the foot, to guide you in the right directions. The sneaker connects to your cell phone via Bluetooth technology. Using just audio prompts and GPS, it can guide you. The founders say they designed the shoe for a very specific reason: to help people who are visually impaired.

Blind people might have an easier way to get around, but the company's creators say the sneaker can also help athletes and ballerinas.

The app the sole uses to vibrate can also tell you fitness details like how many calories you've burned off.

The shoe and insole are either sold together or separately for $100 a pair.

Watch out, LeBron, this shoe has some serious science behind it.
