Gov. Talks Firings, Ignores Protestors & Gets Invited For A Beer

Posted: Updated:
Flemington, New Jersey (MY9NJ) - Governor Christie attended his 115th town hall yesterday in Flemington, New Jersey and it’s the first time that bridgegate was brought up since the scandal broke.

One resident in particular came down hard on Christie for firing former Chief of Staff Bridget Kelly over a lie, calling his decision egotistical.

“You made the firing contingent on the lie, at least that’s what you said at the press conference. The firing should be contingent on the involvement of an illegal act,” the resident said to the governor.

Christie calmly responded, claiming that the lie was just part of the reason why he chose to let Kelly go.

“First off, there are lots of reasons for the firing and what I said the day afterwards was that I can’t have somebody work for me who lies to me because that stuff can extend to a whole variety of subjects that are much broader than the one you just talked about,” Christie said.

In an attempt to smooth things over with the governor, the same resident offered a gesture that made Christie laugh.

“Me and my buddies would be glad to go out and pick up your dry cleaning and then come back to your place, hang out, down a few beers, watch TV and play pool,” he said.

The governor’s protesters were back for this town hall as well, they all were wearing white tee-shirts that spelled out bridgegate, but this time they remained silent. Every time Christie went to take questions they would all raise their hands, but he did not call on them.

One person he did call on, in what some are calling a ‘presidential move’, was a three year old boy who asked the governor if he was ‘excited to go to the New Jersey beach?’

The lake is called Lake Hopatcong but some would call it Lake "Hopat-conda"! Recently, there was a fifteen-foot anaconda spotted in the lake by local resident Tony Colantonio. According to Colantonio, the snake was actually harassing him while he was swimming in the lake so he proceeded to sprint out with no harm done."It was straight across, right where the boat is but a little further back. And I just got out of the water and just took off like a bandit!" He said.

The crisis in Israel continues to grow as the Israeli’s defend themselves against Hamas terrorist groups.
