Police and sheriff's deputies arrested a suspect said to be connected to several home burglaries near Azle in Parker County on Friday.
Officers identified a car similar to one seen in home surveillance video seen leaving a house that had recently been burglarized.
The driver, whom police say is 34-year-old Gary Underwood, led police on a chase through Parker County before ending up back near Azle, where he lost control of the car and crashed along FM 730 near Reno Road.
"Pulled in the driveway and the front door was wide open," said the homeowner where the suspect is seen in that surveillance video.
The homeowner came home Tuesday to find her home broken into, and when she played back surveillance video, it showed the suspect in her home, walking out of her master bedroom.
The thief took jewelry and three guns – an AK-47 and two shotguns. The man can be seen in the surveillance video walking across the driveway while holding the guns and then getting into a maroon Oldsmobile Alero.
Reed says Underwood's car had a safe, jewelry, and tools in it -- items they suspect may be stolen property.
Police in Azle say they've had home burglaries in three months that have all happened in broad daylight and are all similar.
