Kane in some pain, placed on IR

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The lower body injury to Patrick Kane has the Blackhawks dynamic star listed on long-term injured reserve. This means he has to miss at least 24 days and 10 games.

Blackhawks General Manager Stan Bowman said Friday Kane won't play again until the post season, but they are all confident in the plan that he'll be ready.

Head Coach Joel Quenneville added the rest for Kane will make him super fresh for the play offs and that could turn out to be a bonus.

The team recalled Jeremy Morin from Rockford, signed free agent Matthew Carey and brought top prospect Teuvo Teravainen to Chicago from Finland to help fill the void in Kane's absence, as well as add depth for the post season.
