Three injured in Irving apartment fire

Posted: Updated:

One fireman and two residents were injured in an early morning apartment fire in Irving.

Assistant Fire Chief Rusty Wilson says when firemen arrived at the Terrace on Finley apartment complex in the 2500 block of Finley Road fire had already gone through the roof of one of the buildings.  The Irving Fire Department brought in 18 pieces of equipment and almost 50 firemen to contain the three alarm blaze. The fire was reported under control before 5am.

Wilson says 32 apartments were destroyed and almost 80 people were left homeless in the fire. The Red Cross is at the fire scene helping those residents find new places to live.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined according to Wilson.
