Tables turned on prankster cabbie

Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) - The man behind a prank involving a snake, a taxi cab and several passengers got a dose of his own medicine during Good Day New York on Tuesday.

Former taxi driver and comedian Jimmy Failla was on the show to talk about the prank he performed earlier this month when co-host Greg Kelly turned the tables on him.

Greg, wearing a white mask, came up from behind Failla and frightened him.

"You got me," said Failla.  "It was for all those people,"  said Greg about Failla's unsuspecting targets.

Earlier this month, Failla who was video taping the incidents thought it would be funny to put a 14-foot albino python in the back seat of a cab and frighten New Yorkers. A friend, a licensed snake handler seated next to him, would hold the snake.

"I was thinking what would scare me into watching a prank? As a cab driver, a snake in a cab is the least scariest thing I’ve seen," said Failla who is promoting his new book, 'Follow That Car.'

Passengers were seen screaming, cursing and trying desperately to get out of the moving cab.

The Taxi and Limousine Commission didn't find him funny.

"We are clearly going to actively question this person's suitability to continue holding a TLC license," spokesman Allan Fromberg told the NY Post earlier this month.

Failla, 37, who had rented the cab from a medallion owner lost his license for two years.

"They gave me the A-Rod treatment. I can either sue the commissioner or walk away. I'm going to try to do the right thing and walk away," said Failla.

Despite terrifying them, the passengers did not complain to Failla or the TLC.

“They were great. They were really nice," said Failla.

He will be signing a copy of his book at Gotham Comedy Club on March 31 6:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
