9 Year Old Girl Banned From School For Supporting Friend With Cancer

A young girl shaved her head to share the experiences of her best friend who is undergoing chemotherapy. It seems like a sweet gesture, but school officials aren't taking well to the girl's brave decision.

Kamryn Renfro's shaved head is a violation of the school's dress code, according to the school.

"I did it so she wouldn't have to feel left out," said Renfro.

"People would sometimes call me a boy even though I was all dressed in pink," said Delaney Clements, who is battling cancer. "I was really excited that I would have somebody to support me and I wouldn't be alone with people always laughing at me."

Renfro's decision was not an easy one, but it was an act of selflessness to bring comfort to her friend who is already suffering greatly during her fight with cancer.

"Friends support each other no matter what and this is a brave girl and we should support her and the fact that she made that decision. And it is a big deal, it's a very big deal," said Delaney Campbell's mother.

Kamryn's mother posted the story online after her daughter was suspended, and now the school is allowing the girl back to school. Along with this, the school will be reviewing its dress code policy to protect unique circumstances like this one.
